Former India captain Virender Sehwag posted a cryptic tweet on the future of Virat Kohli, after another disappointing outing in T20s as India lost the third and final T20I to England on July 10 in Nottingham by 17 runs, while chasing 216 to win.
England captain Jos Buttler had batted first after winning the toss and thanks to Dawid Malan???s 77 in 39 balls with 6 fours and 5 sixes and support from Liam Livingstone, who made 42* with 4 sixes, posted 215/7 in 20 overs. For India, Ravi Bishnoi and Harshal Patel, both took 2 wickets finishing with figures of 2/30 and 2/35 respectively.
India, on the other hand, didn???t start well with the top three Rohit Sharma (11), Rishabh Pant (1), and Virat Kohli (11) getting out early trying to build momentum from the first ball onwards.
Kohli, especially looked in good touch hitting an amazing six and an equally brilliant boundary. However, he tried to continue in an aggressive manner and was caught in covers trying to hit the bowler in the air. In the end, despite a brilliant 117 from Suryakumar Yadav, India fell short of the target by 17 runs, though it pocketed the series 2-1.
His dismissal sparked much debate about his place in the Indian T20I XI, especially with the likes of Deepak Hooda, Ishan Kishan, and Sanju Samson waiting in the wings to get a longer run in the format in the build-up to the T20 World Cup 2022.

Amid growing calls for Kohli???s ouster from the Twenty20 squad, former India opener Virender Sehwag shot an ominous warning to the Indian team, asking for the inclusion of players who can fire from the word go. He signalled at players like Sanju Samson and Deepak Hooda, who have shown the tendency to hit big from ball one onwards.
He posted: ???India has so many batsman who can get going from the start , some of them are unfortunately sitting out. Need to find a way to play the best available players in current form in T20 cricket. #IndvEng.???
Kohli, who has gone 77 innings without a hundred in any form of international cricket, is facing his worst batting slump, having scored a ton almost three years ago in 2019.
