Ravichandran Ashwin Might Recover Well In Time
A BCCI source told PTI that Ravichandran Ashwin has missed the flight to UK as he contacted COVID. However, the source said that the right-arm spinner might be able to recover well in time before the Test.
“Ravichandran Ashwin hasn’t travelled with the squad to UK as he has tested positive for Covid-19 before departure. But we are hopeful that he will recover well in time before the Test match starts on July 1. However he might miss the practice game against Leicestershire,” the source said.
The Indian team is also set to play a warm-up match ahead of the IND vs ENG Test. India will play a 4-day warm-up match against Leicestershire from June 24 to Jun 27. The match will take place at Grace Road Stadium in Leicester.
India will be led by Rohit Sharma in the Test match. All crucial players like Virat Kohli, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Shami, Hanuma Vihari, and Jasprit Bumrah among others are part of the squad. The Test match will also follow a T20I and ODI series.
The T20I series will witness three games. The 1st T20I will take place on July 7. The 2nd and 3rd T20I takes place on June 9 and 10 respectively. The IND vs ENG ODI series will observe three games. The three ODI matches will take place on July 12, 14, and 17 respectively.
