Danish Kaneria, a former Pakistani spinner, has criticized Indian wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant for his fitness level.

While Kaneria acknowledged that Rohit Sharma is not in great shape either, it is more crucial for Pant to be in better shape because he bats as the wicket-keeper.

Pant’s fitness level has already been questioned. Kaneria believes Pant is falling behind many others in this area, even though a new training regimen was implemented when Virat Kohli initially became India’s captain.

“Rishabh Pant’s level of fitness is far below average. It is, in my opinion, only mediocre. When Kohli assumed the captaincy, the team’s fitness requirements underwent a significant shift. But compared to others, Pant is falling behind “On his own YouTube account” Kaneria said.

Danish Kaneria did not hesitate to bring up Rohit Sharma’s fitness concerns either. Kaneria, however, granted Rohit a pass because he is a pure batsman. However, the disgraced spinner believes that Pant places a high priority on fitness.
“Even though Rohit Sharma is also not in great shape, he is a batter, therefore that is okay for him. However, as a wicketkeeper, Pant needs to increase his physical fitness.”

“We have witnessed how he has not been able to crouch correctly when keeping in recent games, even at this young age. This is due to his weight issues. His flexibility is also impacted by it. He plays to immediately hit the bowlers. Fitness is also the sole way to develop mental fortitude and maturity “Danish Kaneria clarified.

From July 1 to 5, the Indian team will play England in a Test match in Edgbaston in Birmingham. The match has been rescheduled. The 5th Test of India’s tour of England in 2021 was postponed last year after various members of the Indian team’s support personnel called COVID-19. India is presently leading the series 2-1.
