Aakash Chopra, a former Indian opener, was dissatisfied with India’s batting performance on Day 4 of their current Test match against England at Edgbaston.
Only 120 runs could be added to the visitors’ overnight total before they were bundled out for 245.

378 Generally Are A Lot Of Runs: Aakash Chopra
Chopra believes the visitors had a fantastic opportunity to knock England out of the Test match, despite the fact that the goal of 378 is sizable. No other visiting batters contributed significantly in the second innings, with the exception of Cheteshwar Pujara (66) and Rishabh Pant (57).

Here is what Aakash Chopra had to say about India’s Day 4 batting performance in a video on his YouTube channel:
“378 generally are a lot of runs. But if they are chased down, you would say that perhaps India could have batted longer to score 475-500 runs, so many runs that England couldn’t have reached there. So that is an opportunity gone begging. [Virat] Kohli and [Hanuma] Vihari haven’t contributed in both innings.”
Despite a stellar start to his Test career, it appears that Shreyas Iyer’s vulnerability to the short ball has been exposed on the international arena. On Day 4, the 27-year-old was victimised by the strategy once more and displayed extreme agitation while at the crease during his 19-run knock.
Shreyas Iyer Needs To Learn How To Play Short Balls: Aakash Chopra
Shreyas Iyer needs to learn how to get through the onslaught of short balls, according to Aakash Chopra, if he wants to succeed as a Test hitter. The 44-year-old stated:
“Shreyas Iyer’s problem against short ball has been spread quickly like a forest fire. He has been dismissed that way in both innings of the Test. In Test cricket, you simply can’t hide your weakness against the bouncer.”

Aakash Chopra added:
“In T20 and ODI cricket, it can still go under the radar. Shreyas Iyer’s wicket was a huge moment in the game.”
In their new age of Test cricket, England is just 119 runs away from what might be another incredible triumph. Joe Root (76) and Jonny Bairstow (72) will be at the crease to start Day 5.
