Twitter Reacts As India Ride On Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya Brilliance To Pocket Series 2-1

The Indian team closed out the ODI series with a thumping win on Sunday, riding on the back of stunning performances from all-rounder, Hardik Pandya, and wicket-keeper batter, Rishabh Pant.
After opting to bowl first, Rohit Sharma and co. had their opponents on the mat. Mohammed Siraj, replacing Jasprit Bumrah in the game, bowled a double-wicket maiden to put the visitors on top.
Jason Roy and Ben Stokes steadied the innings before both fell in the space of a few overs. Jos Buttler was left to fight for a good total once again and he began in the company of Moeen Ali.

Eventually, lower-order knocks from David Willey and Craig Overton propelled the total to 259 in 45 overs. Hardik had stunning figures of 4/24 in 7 overs, which is his career-best figures.
In response, the Indian top-order fumbled once again. Senior pros, Rohit and Virat Kohli failed to contribute much and when Suryakumar Yadav fell, India was staring down another defeat at 72/4.
However, Hardik and Pant then stitched a brilliant 133-run partnership, with both reaching their respective fifties in the process. Although Hardik fell after the Men in Blue went past 200, Pant stuck around and applied the finishing touches in style. He brought up his maiden ODI century and in the process, smashed a hapless Willey for 5 boundaries in a row.

With the victory, India won both the T20I series (2-1) and the ODI series (2-1) to complete a successful tour of England.
Here’s how Twitter reacted to India’s excellent 5-wicket win:
