Twitter Reacts As Suryakumar Yadav's Century Goes In Vain As England Win The Thrilling 3rd T20I vs India At Trent Bridge

The third and final match of the three-match T20I series between Rohit Sharma-led India National Cricket Team and Jos Buttler-led England National Cricket Team was played at the Trent Bridge, Nottingham on Sunday, July 10.

England National Cricket Team defeated India National Cricket Team by 17 runs in the third T20I to deny them a clean sweep. Also, Suryakumar Yadav’s sensational century went in vain and the series ended with India winning by 2-1.

Earlier, England won the toss, decided to bat first in the match and they made two changes to the playing XI as Reece Topley and Phil Salt replaced Sam Curran and Matt Parkinson.

On the other hand, India once again made four big changes to the playing XI as Ravi Bishnoi, Avesh Khan, Umran Malik and Shreyas Iyer replaced Yuzvendra Chahal, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya.

Avesh Khan opened the attack for India in the absence of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and he bowled 5 dots, conceding only 2 runs. Express pacer Umran Malik came up with the second over and he bowled a 17-run over. Ravi Bishnoi bowled the third over and he conceded 8 runs.

In the 4th over, Avesh Khan dismissed Jos Buttler, who looked in good touch and scored 18 runs off 9 balls, and gave away just 5 runs. In the next two overs, England scored 11 and 9 runs and at the end of the powerplay, they were at 52/1.

Umran Malik bagged his first wicket of the match by dismissing Jason Roy on the first ball of the 8th over. Roy scored 27 runs off 26, including 1 four and 2 sixes.

Then, the 31-year-old pacer Harshal Patel castled Phil Salt for 8 with his trademark slower full-toss on the third ball of the 10th over.

After that, Dawid Malan and Liam Livingstone had an 84-run partnership before the former was dismissed by Ravi Bishnoi. Malan scored 77 runs off 39 balls, including 6 fours and 5 sixes.

In the end, Liam Livingstone scored unbeaten 42 runs while Harry Brook and Chris Jordan chipped in quick runs to help England post 215/7 on the board.

Chasing the target, India lost quick wickets of top-3 batters – Rishabh Pant (1), Rohit Sharma (11) and Virat Kohli (11).

In the end, Suryakumar Yadav smashed his maiden T20I century to become the 5th Indian batter to achieve this milestone. He scored 117 runs off 55 balls, including 14 fours and 6 sixes. However, he got no support from the other end and India lost the match.
