IND vs IRE: NCA Coaches To Be Part Of The Coaching Staff, To Be Led By VVS Laxman
On the short trip to Ireland later this month, National Cricket Academy coaches Sitanshu Kotak, Sairaj Bahutule, and Munish Bali will be part of the India cricket team’s support staff, which will be led by VVS Laxman.
Kotak, who has previously worked with India A, will be the batting coach, while Bali and Bahutule, who were part of India’s successful U-19 World Cup campaign in the Caribbean earlier this year, will be in charge of fielding and bowling.
The team will be coached by NCA head coach Laxman in Ireland, with games scheduled for June 26 and 28 in Malahide.
The trio of Bali, Kotak, and Bahutule have already joined the group that is currently playing South Africa at home, with head coach Rahul Dravid and the other senior team support personnel due to depart for England with the Test squad later this week.
The Squad For The Ireland Series Is Yet To Be Announced
“After the senior support staff departs for the England tour, Bali, Bahutule and Kotak will take over the duties for the remaining T20 against South Africa in Rajkot and Bengaluru.
“They have already been with the limited-overs squad for a while and by the time the senior support staff leaves for England, they will be ready for the task,” a BCCI official told PTI.
The squad for the Ireland series has not yet been announced. The short visit coincides with India’s tour of England, where the rescheduled fifth Test against England is set to begin on July 1. India is up 2-1 in the series.
India will play Leicestershire in a four-day warm-up match from June 24-27.
India will play Ireland with a team made up mostly of T20 specialists, a full-strength squad is expected for the white ball portion of the England tour, which begins on July 7 and includes three T20s and as many ODIs.
