IND vs IRE: No One Will Question His Team India Spot- Sunil Gavaskar Believes India's Star Must Justify His Selection In The Ireland T20Is

Sunil Gavaskar believes Sanju Samson needs to improve his shot selection to remain in the India squad.
The 27-year-old star most recently appeared in a T20I series against Sri Lanka at home earlier this year, where he faced 37 deliveries over two innings and scored 57 runs at a strike rate of 154.05.
As India continues its search for a final 15 for the 2022 T20 World Cup, some players have been rested and others have been replaced. Sunil Gavaskar, a former captain of India, also commented on the 27-year-old star’s return and praised his “tremendous ability.”
Samson had a pretty excellent IPL 2022 season, scoring 458 runs in 17 innings, at a strike rate of 146.79 with two half-centuries, to help the Rajasthan Royals advance to the final. For the home series against Sri Lanka before the IPL season, he was brought back up to the India team and faced 37 deliveries over two innings to score 57 runs with a strike rate of 154.05.
‘Samson looks to attack from the first ball’: Sunil Gavaskar
In an interview with Star Sports regarding his selection, Gavaskar suggested that Samson improve his shot selection to guarantee his spot in the India team for the T20 World Cup.
“Everyone deserves a second chance, but you have to seize it.” What has brought Sanju Samson down, despite his enormous talent, is his shot selection while playing for India. He wants to attack from the first ball, and even in T20Is, “there is a great chance to get your feet moving, get your eye. you know with the light and pitch, and so on,” Sunil Gavaskar said.
“So, yes, if his shot selection improves, he will be much more accurate, whether for India or his franchise.” Then no one will be asking him about his position on the team,” he added.
Later this month, the Indian T20I team will play again when it hosts Ireland for a two-T20I series. All-rounder Hardik Pandya will captain the team in the shortest format.
