Indian Cricket Team thrashed New Zealand in the 2nd T20I match and took a 1-0 lead in the Series. The Men in Blue dominated the terms and won the match by 65 runs. Suryakumar Yadav took on the Kiwi attack and scored 111 runs in 51 balls where he smashed 11 fours and 7 sixes and was in blistering form.

New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson would be in a state of shock as all the bowlers were taken to the cleaners. There was some joy for Kiwis as Tim Southee got his 2nd hat trick in the last over. Southee used all the variations in the book to fox the batters.

“When we start playing cricket we start with red ball and I have also played first-class cricket for my Mumbai team… it was quite okay, so I have a fair idea about the Test format and I enjoy playing that format also. Hopefully, I will get the Test cap soon,” he added.

Suryakumar Yadav Interesting Prospect

If the right-handed batter is given an opportunity in the Test arena, then he could prove to be the game-changer for the team. The right-handed batter has got all the traits to be in the squad. Though, the batter will have to work on his batting approach as aggressive batting won’t work all the time.

Suryakumar Yadav would be eyeing to make the most of the New Zealand tour. With 1 T20I left and 3 ODI’s scheduled next the batter will have to be spot-on with his shot selection. The management’s decision on to make Suryakumar Yadav bat at no.3 position proved to be quite fruitful. Shreyas Iyer would be disappointed as he couldn’t make any impact. It would be interesting to see how the 3rd T20I match fares as New Zealand would be roaring to make a statement.
