The 3rd ODI between India and New Zealand was called off due to rain. New Zealand was in a dominant position as they had scored 104-1 in 18 overs where the target was 220. The New Zealand team looked as if they were on a mission as they made Indian batters work very hard for their runs.

India would feel that they missed an opportunity to stamp their authority against New Zealand. The team didn’t have senior players but the squad was competitive. The captaincy of Shikhar Dhawan was not up to the mark as the team was not able to defend a formidable total of 307 runs.

Ravi Shastri On Youngsters

Ravi Shastri was seen interacting with the Amazon Prime Video and was asked about Indian players. “Shreyas Iyer getting runs in a couple of matches. Willing to stay there and willing to go through the tough period. Suryakumar of course has the potential, has the talent, and he will deliver.” said Ravi Shastri.

“Washington Sundar I thought was very good. And even Umran Malik, I like the way he bowled. There’s potential there. If he can persevere, it will be very good. All around, there was very positive Shubman Gill at the start of the innings.” he stated.

Great Series for New Zealand

The Black Caps would be delighted after winning the ODI Series by 1-0 as earlier they had lost the T20I Series. The Skipper Kane Williamson was spot on with his captaincy as he rotated the bowlers smartly. The decision to play Adam Milne in place of Michael Bracewell proved to be quite a game-changer as he took 3 scalps for 57 runs in 10 overs.

Kiwis now are in the 2nd position with 130 points from 18 matches whereas India is at the top of the table with 139 points from 21 matches. India would be worried as their batters weren’t able to get a big score on a batting track. New Zealand made a statement to the World Cricket that they are quite dangerous as defeating any Indian Side is never easy.
