IPL 2023 Auction: Hugh Edmeades All Set To Conduct Mini-Auction In Kochin

IPL 2023 Auction has started making headlines as the 10 Franchises would be eager to form a formidable team. The Auction is set to take place on 23rd December at Kochin.  SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) has the highest purse of 42,25 Crores as they have taken a bold step by leaving out Kane Williamson & Nicholas Pooran.

Along with SRH, Punjab Kings (PBKS) has a purse of 32.2 Crores and once again is looking to start afresh in the upcoming edition. It is often said half of the IPL is won at the auction and it would be interesting to see how the Auction 2023 pans out for all the teams.

Hugh Edmeades Returns

Auctioneer Hugh Edmeades is set to make a comeback for the Mini IPL Auction 2023. He succeeded Richard Hadley back in 2018 who has been the prominent face of the event since the inception of the tournament. In the last season, Hugh Edmeades had collapsed in the middle of the auction on the very first day but later he came to the auction on the final day.

Hugh Edmeades has conducted over 2,500 auctions globally and has an experience of 36 years.  Edmeades is famous for his way of conducting an auction. He is an international fine art, classic car, and charity auctioneer and it won’t be wrong to say that he has changed the dynamics of the IPL Auction.

Exciting IPL Auction 2023

Teams like MI & CSK would be aware of the 2022 edition where they were completely outplayed in all the  3 facets of the game. MI has a purse of 20.55 crores and with Pollard as a batting coach, we can expect some serious power hitting from the batters.

It is expected that this would be the last season of MS Dhoni as the skipper had mentioned that he would bid adieu after playing in his home ground. BCCI is all set to introduce a home and away venue system for the upcoming season. CSK would be aiming to win their 5th title and give a grand farewell to the skipper MS Dhoni.
