Indian Cricket Team is all set to lock horns against New Zealand on 25th November (Friday) for a 3 Match ODI Series. This ODI Series is a part of the World Super League where India is ranked at the top with 129 points whereas New Zealand is placed in 6th position with 115 points.

In this series, India has rested Virat Kohli & Rohit Sharma, and other cricketers to manage their workload. Shikhar Dhawan has a golden opportunity to make a case for himself. He has been handed the captaincy and would be hoping that the team excels against a quality New Zealand lineup.

Skipper Kane Williamson was having an interaction with reporters ahead of the 1st ODI match and was asked about whether he would get picked in the IPL auction after being released by SunRisers Hyderabad. “In terms of the auction. You know I’ll have to wait and see. It’s certainly not up to me. People make decisions about their team and what they are after. That’s the nature of how it works,” said Williamson.

“I still love playing all three formats. I enjoy switching between the three. As a player, I’m always looking to keep improving. I still have that motivation. It was a bit frustrating, the other night. That’s the way it goes sometimes. I’m still looking at the areas where I can add value,” he added.

Stern Test for India

India’s middle order is a bit fragile as a lot will depend on Dhawan to give the team a great start. All eyes would be on Shreyas Iyer who had a forgettable T20 Series against New Zealand. The batter is someone who can provide stability to the team in the middle-overs phase.

New Zealand on the other hand would be banking on their pacers to rattle India’s batting lineup. Skipper Kane Williamson will have to find a way to come out of his defensive approach, as it has started to hurt the team. Devon Conway & Fin Allen will have to make sure that one of them plays a long and effective innings.
