New Zealand Cricket Team had won the toss and opted to field first. The Kiwis had a forced change where Mark Chapman replaced Kane Williamson and in Williamson’s absence, Tim Southee became the skipper. This time, New Zealand was seen quite aggressive in its approach.
New Zealand managed to put 160 runs on board. In the last 5 overs, the team managed to score 31 runs and lost 8 wickets in it. It looked as if the batters were in a hurry to play their shots as the team was all set for a total in excess of 180+ runs.
Mohammed Siraj produced an incredible spell as the speedster took 4 wickets for 17 runs in his 4 overs. The pacer was bang-on with his line and length as he hardly gave any freebies to the batters. Siraj now has made a strong case for himself as excelling in New Zealand is never easy.
The 3rd T20I match got tied de to rain according to the DLS method. India won back-to-back T20I Series in New Zealand as the management would be pumped up as a lot of senior players were not a part of the squad.
