Tim Southee, the interim captain of New Zealand, won the toss and decided to bat against India in the third Twenty20 International on Tuesday at McLean Park in Napier.
India has made one adjustment to its starting lineup by substituting Harshal Patel for Washington Sundar. Team India, lead by Hardik Pandya, will take the field against the hosts in the third and final T20I encounter in an effort to win the series.
We Will Watch The Ball And Play The Ball: Ishan Kishan
Speaking before the match, Ishan Kishan says that everyone is going with positive intent and nobody is thinking about the conditions or weather. He also said that New Zealand bowlers look to bowl short and they may go for the shorter boundaries.
“It was our first game after the WC, it was so good to see everyone going with a positive intent. Was a lovely game for us. The conditions have been great, now we have played here for so many games here, we don’t think about the rain, we are professionals and know how to switch off and on.
“We should not look at the dimensions. The NZ bowlers look to bowl the short ball and will look to go for the shorter square boundaries. We will watch the ball and play the ball,” Kishan said.
Kishan also praised the Indian bowling attack with pacers such as Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Arshdeep Singh and Umran Malik.
“There are so many bowlers like Umran, Bhuvi, Arsh, they are so good at executing their skills. It is a very good side and we are very happy.
