India and South Africa are set to lock horns in an ODI series. The IND vs SA 1st ODI will take place on January 19 at Boland Park in Paarl. The IND vs SA ODI series consists of three ODI games. Recently, South Africa defeated India in the Test series 2-1.

In the absence of ODI skipper Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul will lead the Indian team. Temba Bavuma is the skipper of South Africa. After the defeat in the Test series, India will be eager to make a comeback in the ODI series and play their best players against South Africa. KL Rahul will be the skipper of the Indian team. He will play as an opener in IND vs SA 1st ODI. KL Rahul slammed a century in IND vs SA 1st Test. The right-handed batsman is in a brilliant batting form currently. He will look to give a great start to the team in batting.

Shikhar Dhawan

Shikhar Dhawan will be the other opener for the team. In the absence of Rohit Sharma, Dhawan would be a good choice to open the innings. Dhawan has a lot of experience in batting as an opener. He executed a good performance in the ODI series against England in March last year. Dhawan slammed a 96-run knock in one game. He also played incredible knocks during the ODI series against Sri Lanka in July 2021.

Virat Kohli will be the no.3 batsman for India. This will be the first ODI that Virat Kohli will play after his ouster as ODI captain. He has relieved himself from the captainship duties in every format and now will totally focus on his batting.

Suryakumar Yadav

Suryakumar Yadav will be another batsman in the middle-order. The right-handed batsman gave an astonishing performance during his last ODI series against Sri Lanka in July last year. Yadav slammed 124 runs in 3 ODIs during the series at an average of 62.0 and won the player of the series award.

Shreyas Iyer

Shreyas Iyer will be another player that India might pick at the middle-order. Iyer was out of the field for a long time last year, after he faced an elbow injury during India vs England ODI series in March. Later, he showed a good performance in IND vs NZ Test series, smacking a ton and fifty in his debut Test.
