IND vs SA: Host Broadcaster Says Bounce Of The Pitch Was A Factor Amid Indian Team's Criticism Of DRS

Official broadcasters for India’s tour of South Africa, SuperSport, have responded to the allegations laid by the Indian Cricket Team following the conclusion of the 3-match Test series between the two sides.

Virat Kohli and co. implied that the broadcasters had altered the ball-tracking technology used for reviewing LBW referrals. In response, the broadcasters made a brief statement to AFP, stating that they have no control over the technology.

SuperSport notes comments made by certain members of the Indian cricket team. Hawk-Eye is an independent service provider, approved by the ICC and their technology has been accepted for many years as an integral part of DRS. SuperSport does not have any control over the Hawk-Eye technology,” they stated.

Earlier, Dean Elgar’s reversal had caused so much controversy that SuperSport ended up tweeting a video showing that the bounce in the pitch played a huge part in the ball going over the stumps.

There was also another image where it was shown that a ball that had previously landed in the same spot also went over the stumps. South African pitches are generally bouncy and therefore, it is quite plausible that the ball went over the stumps.

Unfortunately, in the heat of the moment, the Indian team let it get to them instead of focusing on the task at hand. They ended up conceding one too many runs in a brief period after the DRS call which cost the game and the series eventually.
