Indian skipper Virat Kohli was dismissed on 29 off 143 balls on day 3 of Cape Town Test. That ended a 94-run stand between the two batsmen as India are inching closer to a lead of 200 runs. The southpaw, on the other end, is looking good with every runs he is scoring in his innings.

Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant added 72-runs before the lunch break and looked good to carry on with the partnership. However, South African skipper Dean Elgar brought back Lungi Ngidi who fed him with a few balls outside the off-stump. Bowling the sixth stump line, Ngidi once again brought out the expansive drive from Kohli who this time edged the ball only for Aiden Markram to complete a terrific catch. The ball was rising above after Kohli nicked it and Markram with soft hands ensured that he pouched it softly.

The extra bounce in the Cape Town pitch posed problems to all the batsmen. Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane fell to balls with extra bounce. India lost the first two wickets inside the first two overs in the day’s play. It was Kohli and Pant then who shouldered the responsibility and added a crucial partnership.

However, by dismissing the Indian skipper, Lungi Ngidi has again given the advantage to the hosts. With more than two days left, a result in this game is almost guaranteed unless the weather plays spoilsport.

India took a 13-run lead in their second innings. Their openers were dismissed early as Virat Kohli and Pujara ensured that they finish the day on 57/2. The Virat Kohli-led side can become the first Indian side to win a Test series in South Africa. The three-match series is currently tied on 1-1.
