Shikhar Dhawan is the first player on this list. Shikhar Dhawan has been named the skipper of India in IND vs WI ODI series. The right-handed batsman does not get a chance in the Tests and T20Is but often makes it to ODIs.

However, Dhawan will turn 37 this year. Moreover, many emerging youngsters like Ishan Kishan and KL Rahul are toiling hard to grab Dhawan’s opener slot in ODIs. Hence, since Dhawan already loses a lot of chances in the national side, he might opt to retire from ODIs after the series against West Indies.

Sanju Samson is another player on this list. Sanju Samson is a young player in Indian cricket. However, due to his inconsistent performance in the national team, he has been on and off the team. Moreover, wicketkeeper batsmen like Ishan Kishan, Rishabh Pant, and KL Rahul are preferred by selectors for ODIs and T20Is.

Hence, due to a lack of opportunities by selectors, Samson might choose to retire from ODIs after the series against West Indies.

Mohammed Siraj might be another player who might retire from ODIs after the IND vs WI series. Siraj has been given an opportunity in the squad as many key players have been rested for the series. Otherwise, Siraj always finds it difficult to be part of the ODI and T20I squads.

He is a regular member of the team in the Test format but loses out on selection in the white-ball format. Hence, he might opt to retire from ODIs after the series against West Indies.
