IND vs WI: Avesh Khan Receives His Maiden India ODI Cap, Set To Make Debut In 2nd ODI vs West Indies

The 25-year-old right-arm pacer Avesh Khan is all set to make his One Day International (ODI) debut for India National Cricket Team in the second match of the three-match ODI series against the West Indies National Cricket Team.
The second match of the three-match ODI series between the India National Cricket Team and West Indies National Cricket Team is being played at the Queen’s Park Oval, Port of Spain, Trinidad on Sunday, July 24.

India won the thrilling first ODI of the series by a small margin of just 3 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the series. Batting first, India were able to post 308/7 on the board with the help of the incredible performances of skipper Shikhar Dhawan, young opener Shubman Gill and star batter Shreyas Iyer.
Chasing the target, the West Indies batters looked in fine touch, but they were unable to score 15 runs in the final over of the match, which was bowled by the right-arm pacer Mohammed Siraj, and they lost the match.
Avesh Khan Receives His Maiden India ODI Cap

On Sunday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) took to Twitter to announce that the Madhya Pradesh pacer Avesh Khan will be making his ODI debut for India in Port of Spain. At the toss, stand-in India captain Shikhar Dhawan told that Avesh will be replacing pacer Prasidh Krishna in the playing XI.

The 25-year-old right-arm pacer has already played 9 T20Is for the India National Cricket Team. He made his T20I debut against West Indies National Cricket Team on February 20, 2022, in Kolkata.
Overall, he has picked up 8 T20I wickets in his career at an average of 29.37, an economy of 8.10 and a strike rate of 21.7 with his best bowling figures being 4/18.
