IND vs WI: Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Ravi Bishnoi Create Historic Record In The 5th T20I Against West Indies

Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav and Ravi Bishnoi scripted a historic record during the IND vs WI 5th T20I. The trio picked all 10 wickets in the match. It became the first time in a T20I match that spinners grabbed all the 10 wickets.

India defeated West Indies by 88 runs in the 5th T20I. Hardik Pandya led the team as Rohit Sharma was rested for the match. Batting first, India posted 188-7 in the match with Shreyas Iyer hitting 64. Later, West Indies was all-out for 100 with Shimron Hetmyer scoring the most 56.

Spinners Steal The Show In IND vs WI 5th T20I

India comprised three spinners in the match in the form of Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, and Ravi Bishnoi. The trio hunted all the 10 wickets to create a unique record in a T20I encounter where spinners grabbed all the 10 wickets. Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav picked 3 wickets each while Ravi Bishnoi dismissed 4 batsmen.

Axar Patel led the spin attack after picking the first three wickets. He picked 3 wickets for 15 runs in his 3-over spell. The left-arm spinner also won the man of the match award. Kuldeep Yadav, who played his first match in the IND vs WI T20I series, came up with a dashing spell of 12 runs for 3 wickets in the match. Ravi Bishnoi picked the most 4 wickets in just 2.4 overs, conceding 16 runs.

Many top players were rested in the 5th T20I. Along with skipper Rohit Sharma, players like Suryakumar  Yadav, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Rishabh Pant were rested in the game. A new set of openers Shreyas Iyer and Kishan Kishan opened the batting for the team. Dinesh Karthik kept the wickets in the absence of Pant.

Meanwhile, India also defeated West Indies in the series 4-1, grabbing a huge series victory. India’s loss came only in the 2nd T20I when they lost by 5 wickets to the hosts. They crushed West Indies in the 1st T20I by 68 runs, 3rd T20I by 7 wickets, 4th T20I by 59 runs, and 5th T20I by 88 runs. Earlier, India also defeated West Indies in the ODI series 3-0.
