Indian pacer Harshal Patel will not be part of the final two T20Is against the West Indies, which will take place at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground in Lauderhill, Florida.

Harshal sustained a rib injury and hasn’t fully recovered from it. He is undergoing treatment under the watchful eyes of the medical team but will not feature in the T20Is against the Windies.

UPDATE: Harshal Patel has not fully recovered from his rib injury and is ruled out of the remaining two T20Is against West Indies,” the BCCI tweeted.

The 31-year-old traveled with the team for the tour but hasn’t played in any of the T20Is so far. His absence is worrisome with the Asia Cup 2022 set to take place in the UAE this month.

In his stead, Arshdeep Singh will be continuing to feature in the playing XI. The left-armer has been impressive in the limited chances he has received and is ahead in the pecking order with respect to fellow fast bowler, Avesh Khan.
