India National Cricket Team medium pacer Harshal Patel is expected to return to the playing XI for the fourth T20I match of the five-match T20I series against the West Indies National Cricket Team, according to reports.

India National Cricket Team have a 2-1 lead in the series against West Indies National Cricket Team and the 4th T20I will be played on Saturday, August 6 at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground, Lauderhill, Florida.

Star pacer Harshal Patel, who is an important member of India’s T20I setup, has picked up the joint most T20I wickets for India National Cricket Team since the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021. Harshal has picked up 23 wickets in 16 innings and veteran pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar has bagged 23 wickets in 18 innings.

The 31-year-old last played for India in the three-match T20I series against England National Cricket Team and he bagged 4 wickets in the series.

Harshal hadn’t featured in the T20I series opener against West Indies as India picked 3 spinners – Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravi Bishnoi and Ravindra Jadeja – and two pacers – Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Arshdeep Singh – in the playing XI.

Later, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) released a statement on Twitter asserting that Harshal has sustained a rib injury and he has been ruled out of the 2nd and 3rd T20I games.

“Harshal Patel has a rib injury and is unavailable for selection for the 2nd and 3rd T20I. He is being monitored by the BCCI medical team,” BCCI tweeted after the toss of the second ODI in Saint Kitts.

Speaking in a video shared on his YouTube channel, veteran journalist Vimal Kumar said that the medium pacer Harshal Patel is now fully fit to compete and he will most likely replace Avesh Khan, who has been struggling with his form, in the playing XI in the 4th game.

“India have reached the USA and Harshal Patel doesn’t have any fitness issues now and he is expected to replace Avesh Khan in the 4th T20I,” veteran journalist Vimal Kumar said on his official YouTube channel.

Kumar also said that the star all-rounder Jadeja, who was rested for the 3rd T20I, is likely to be rested for the 4th T20I as well and Deepak Hooda will retain his place in the playing XI.

“Ravindra Jadeja was rested for the 3rd game and Deepak Hooda replaced him in the playing XI and Jadeja is expected to get rest in the 4th T20I as well. Deepak Hooda playing the 4th T20I is almost confirmed as per my sources ,” he added.
