IND vs WI: Ishan Kishan Will Open Alongside Suryakumar Yadav – Aakash Chopra Picks Probable India XI For 4th T20I vs West Indies

The 44-year-old cricketer-turned-commentator Aakash Chopra has picked probable India National Cricket Team playing XI for the 4th T20I against West Indies National Cricket Team and said that the young wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan will open alongside Suryakumar Yadav if captain Rohit Sharma misses out on the game.

India National Cricket Team captain Rohit Sharma suffered a back injury during the third T20I against West Indies while playing an awkward-looking shot off the right-arm pacer Alzarri Joseph’s delivery during the run-chase and the Indian captain got retired hurt at the score of 11. There is no official confirmation of his participation in the remainder of the series, but some reports claim he has recovered from the injury.

India National Cricket Team have a 2-1 lead in the series and the 4th T20I will be played on August 6 at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground, Lauderhill, Florida.

In a video shared on his YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra said that India might field 3 spinners in the 4th T20I because the conditions in Florida favour the spin bowlers more than the pacers. He asserted:

“Between pace and spin, the latter’s contribution is a little more here. That is why chases don’t happen here. So India might go back to the three-spinner strategy here. That’s the thing you would like to do if you are playing in Florida

“If Rohit Sharma is not there, let us start hypothetically because we don’t get news from anywhere these days, who is available and who is not. Neither do we know nor do they know probably. They also keep their cards very close to their chests.”

He added that India have Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson as opening options in the squad, but preference would be given to Kishan if Rohit is unavailable. Chopra said:

“I feel he will probably not be available. If he is not there, whom will you play? You have two options in the form of Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson. I am saying they will not play Sanju, they will play Ishan Kishan. Ishan Kishan will open alongside Suryakumar Yadav.”

Former India National Cricket Team opener Aakash Chopra further said that India might include Ravindra Jadeja in the playing XI in the 4th T20I in place of Deepak Hooda. The cricketer-turned-commentator said:

“You will see only one change in the batting order unless the team thinks they want to play Jaddu again. You might want to play Jaddu because bowling had become slightly weak in the last match. You had only five bowling options, you got Deepak Hooda to bowl just one over.

“Your batting does not get compromised if Jaddu plays, which does not happen even if Deepak Hooda plays, but the bowling doesn’t become weak.”

He added that India will not play three pacers and leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi might replace pacer Avesh Khan in the playing XI. He said:

“You will not see the three fast bowlers. So Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja are playing, and Ravi Bishnoi might get an opportunity to play here. You won’t go towards Avesh Khan now.”
