IND vs WI: Hoping His Injury Is Not Serious – Mohammad Kaif Feels Young Team India Need A Captain Like Rohit Sharma

Former India National Cricket Team player Mohammad Kaif is hopeful that the injury suffered by captain Rohit Sharma is not very serious and he is also hoping to see Rohit lead the side in the remainder of the five-match T20I series against the West Indies National Cricket Team.

India National Cricket Team captain Rohit Sharma suffered a back injury during the third T20I against West Indies during the run-chase and the Indian captain got retired hurt at the score of 11.

He copped a back injury while playing an awkward-looking shot off the right-arm pacer Alzarri Joseph’s delivery. After Rohit looked uncomfortable the Indian physio Kamlesh came onto the field and after consultation for a few minutes, Rohit decided to walk off the field.

“Team India captain Rohit Sharma has a back spasm. The BCCI medical team is monitoring his progress,” the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) issued an update on Twitter

Also, Rohit Sharma, during the post-match presentation ceremony, had given a major update on his injury. He said:

“It’s okay at the moment. We’ve got a few days till the next game, hopefully it should be okay (his injury).”

On Thursday, August 4, former India National Cricket Team player Kaif took to Twitter to state that the young Team India need a skipper like Rohit. He stated:

This young team needs Rohit Sharma as captain, here’s hoping his injury is not serious. Fingers crossed. @ImRo45.”

Meanwhile, India have a 2-1 lead in the series after winning the first and third T20I by 68 runs and 7 wickets respectively. The 4th game of the series will be played at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground, Lauderhill on Saturday, August 6.
