IND vs WI: Ravi Bishnoi's Googlies And Sliders Were Always Going To Be Dangerous – Danish Kaneria Lauds Leg-spinner For His Spell In 1st T20I

Former Pakistan National Cricket Team leg-spinner Danish Kaneria showered praise on the young India National Cricket Team leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi for his brilliant performance in the first T20I of the five-match T20I series against West Indies National Cricket Team at the Brian Lara Stadium, Tarouba, Trinidad on Friday, July 29.

The 21-year-old leg-spinner bagged 2 wickets in the match in his 4-over quota and he gave away just 26 runs. He bowled an impressive googly on the very first ball of his spell to send back power-hitter Rovman Powell and then he cleaned up Odean Smith for a 2-ball duck.

In a video shared on his YouTube channel, Kaneria said that Bishnoi would have enjoyed bowling on the Brian Lara Stadium surface. He said:

“Ravi Bishnoi’s googlies and sliders were always going to be dangerous on this pitch. He came up to bowl and the very first delivery was on target to Rovman Powell as he had no clue how the ball was turning. Even poor Keemo Paul couldn’t understand what Bishnoi was doing. He will have loved bowling on that Trinidad track.”

Kaneria further talked about young left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh, who bagged 2 wickets for 24 runs in the match. Former Pakistan National Cricket Team player said that the left-arm pacer didn’t lose his confidence after getting smashed for boundaries by Kyle Mayers and ended up picking his wicket. He also said that Arshdeep has already become a very mature pace bowler. He stated:

“Arshdeep Singh was greeted by Kyle Mayers with a boundary and a six. But he didn’t lose his confidence. Mayers changed his bat and that brought a pause in momentum. Arshdeep used his presence of mind and bowled a short delivery that took Mayers by surprise, taking the top edge of his bat as Bhuvneshwar completed a simple catch. Arshdeep has already become a matured bowler and that will make him even more successful in future.”
