Hardik Pandya is captaining India in the fifth T20I. He won the toss and chose to bat first on the same pitch that slowed down during the first match of the weekend double-header in Lauderhill.

Both teams made significant changes in order to give their remaining squad members game time.

Regular captain Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, Suryakumar Yadav, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar were rested, making room for Pandya, Ishan Kishan, Shreyas Iyer, and Kuldeep Yadav.
