Indian senior batters Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli may not be rested for the T20I series against West Indies as the T20 World Cup is nearing and they need to be at their best.

The duo has been rested for the 3-match ODI series which Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant, and Mohammed Shami will also be missing in order to manage their workload.

The ODI World Cup takes place next year so they have time to prepare for it but with the T20 World Cup to be held this October, both Rohit and Kohli need all the match practice they can get.

Notably, Kohli’s place in the side is also under question as he has been going through a prolonged lean patch and with Suryakumar Yadav and Deepak Hooda performing well, his spot is in danger.
