IND vs ZIM: Axar Patel Is Still In The Shadow Of Ravindra Jadeja: Aakash Chopra

All-rounder Axar Patel received high praise from former India cricketer Aakash Chopra for his performance in the team’s opening ODI of the three-match series against Zimbabwe at the Harare Sports Club.

In the match on Thursday, India defeated Zimbabwe by 10 wickets, with Axar taking 3 for 24 in 7.3 overs. Axar is still under Ravindra Jadeja’s spotlight, according to Chopra, and he won’t get a chance as long as Jadeja is healthy and available to play.

He is still in the shadow of Ravindra Jadeja and by the time Jadeja is fit and available to play, Axar would not be getting a chance. But whenever he is getting a chance, he is making the right impression,” said Chopra on his YouTube channel.

While Kuldeep Yadav, another spinner who has recently fallen out of favour, failed to take any wickets, Axar made the most of the chance to establish his case. Despite being efficient in his 10-over spell against Zimbabwe, Kuldeep could not pick up a wicket. He was denied a wicket when a review went against him.

Kuldeep Yadav didn’t get wickets… You expect wickets from him. This pitch did not have help for him. I think he could have bowled a bit faster in air,” Chopra added about Kuldeer who was playing in an ODI after a long time.

The second ODI between India and Zimbabwe will take place on August 20 at the same location. On August 22, the third and final game of the series will take place.
