Ravindra Jadeja has also been called the “best bet” by former India batsman Atul Wassan, who hails from Chennai.
He believes Dhoni is experienced and that the franchise did the right thing by preparing Jadeja for the captaincy. Atul Wassan, an ex-India cricketer, discusses why Jadeja is the ‘best bet’ to lead CSK.

MS Dhoni announced his resignation from the captaincy of Chennai Super Kings on Thursday, barely two days before the team’s IPL 2022 opener against Kolkata Knight Riders.
Dhoni guided the franchise to four IPL crowns and two Champions League T20 triumphs before giving the baton to all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who has also contributed significantly to the team’s success.
Given that his international career has reached new heights in a previous couple of years, Jadeja is viewed as an ideal alternative. Prior to the auction, he was CSK’s top retainer, ahead of Dhoni, Moeen Ali, and Ruturaj Gaikwad.
Ravindra Jadeja was been labelled the “Best Bet” by Atul Wassan:
Atul Wassan believes “Well done; you made a wise selection. I don’t think it’s worth it since you need to put money into the younger person. Jadeja is outstanding in Test, One, and T20 formats. He is one of the most well-rounded cricketers in the world “

“Just to prepare him for a leadership role will be beneficial to CSK for a long time, as he has a good six to seven years of cricket ahead of him, and Dhoni, even if he is captain, will have his views. So, although Ravindra Jadeja is still playing, I don’t see Dhoni playing for a long time after this IPL.”
CSK face off against KKR in the first match of IPL 2022 on March 26 at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai.
