David Warner Bought By Delhi Capitals (DC) For INR 6.25 Crores In IPL 2022 Mega Auction

David Warner was picked by Delhi Capitals in IPL 2022 auction. The franchise piad Rs. 6.25 crores to seal the player in their squad. David Warner had kept a base price of Rs. 2 crores for himself. Warner is one of the most successful batsmen in Indian Premier League.

The left-handed batsman has mustered 5449 runs in 150 games so far at an average of 41.59. He has also slammed 4 centuries and 50 half-centuries in his career. The Australian star batsman has also won the orange cap most 3 times. Warner won the orange cap in IPL 2015, IPL 2917, and IPL 2019.

In his debut 2009 season, the 35-year-old joined Delhi Daredevils. Till 2013, he was part of the Delhi franchise. Later in the 2014 season, Sunrisers Hyderabad grabbed David Warner in the squad. In 2016 season, Warner led Hyderabad to their IPL title for the first time.

Warner continued to lead Sunrisers Hyderabad post IPL 2016 success. However last year, the team gave a miserable show under skipper Warner, losing 11 out of 14 games in the tournament. As a result, Warner was removed as the skipper midway during IPL 2021. Towards the end, he was also kept out of the playing XI. He was eventually released by the team after the tournament.
