Former Indian cricketer Ajay Jadeja feels that the strain will be more on the Rajasthan Royals (RR) when they face the Delhi Capitals (DC) at the IPL 2022 on Wednesday. The Sanju Samson-drove side is holding back nothing in the pursuit of a top-two finish while their rivals are entangled in a mid-table hustle.

RR will expect to exploit LSG’s mishap by asserting the second spot in the points table with a success. The inaugural champs have 16 points from 12 matches and could be the second side to fit the bill for the playoff games assuming that the game against DC closes in support of themselves.

DC Has Nothing To Lose: Ajay Jadeja

Nonetheless, they can’t bear to delicately take the Capitals. Noticing that DC has nothing to lose at this stage, Jadeja told Cricbuzz:

“There is more pressure on them than on DC. DC have been so up and down that it will be difficult for them to predict what they will be up against. They have the solidity but have the weakness that the opposition knows how you play. They have everything to lose, so it will be tough for them. DC is like a wounded tiger here.”

The two sides were involved in a critical match the last time they confronted one another. The high-scoring experience saw a questionable closure, where captain Rishabh Pant thought the players should stroll off the field after a no-ball choice conflicted with them in the last over of the run pursue.

RR should play without the services of Shimron Hetmyer against DC this evening. The Caribbean pro has been a crucial part of the middle order for the side to perform consistently. The left-handed player recently left the bio-bubble to travel to his hometown to attend the birth of his child.

Jimmy Neesham Should Come In The Side: Parthiv Patel

Proposing that RR ought to get Jimmy Neesham for Hetmyer and not take a stab at anything more, former India wicketkeeper Parthiv Patel said in a similar interaction:

“I think they should make a straight swap and bring in Jimmy Neesham for Shimron Hetmyer. Should leave the rest of the team untouched and not try to do too many things with it. At times, to replace one player, you end up making two-three changes to maintain the combination, here only one like-to-like change is needed. “

The Sanju Samson-drove side will take on DC at the DY Patil Stadium on Wednesday night in their endeavor to fit the bill for the playoff games for the first time since 2018.
