Former Indian batsman Ajay Jadeja believes the Delhi Capitals (DC) must win their IPL 2022 match against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Thursday (5 May) to stay in the competition. He reminded out that, despite playing one match fewer than the majority of other teams, Delhi had only four victories so far.

Three of DC’s previous five games have ended in defeat. They were defeated by the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by six runs in their previous match, unable to chase down 196 runs.

On Cricbuzz, Jadeja stated that DC must raise their skills before it is too late. He elaborated: “This is a game that Delhi needs to win. They have only eight points despite having played one game fewer than other franchises. Even if they defeat SRH, the two teams will have the same number of points.”

“As a result, I believe this is a pivotal moment for DC. In recent matches, things have not gone well for them. Now, if they lose this match, their mission could be ruined.”

Ajay Jadeja on DC’s batting struggles:

According to former Indian batsman Ajay Jadeja, Delhi’s main issue in this campaign is that, aside from the starters, few of the batsmen have regularly scored runs. He went on to say:

“Delhi’s initial partnership was significant. The middle of the lineup is still not scoring runs, which is a major concern. They aren’t getting wickets at crucial times, either. I believe that joint effort is lacking,” Ajay Jadeja said.

So far in IPL 2022, openers David Warner and Prithvi Shaw have scored the most runs for Delhi. Warner has 264 runs in seven games, while Shaw has 259 runs in nine games.

The match between Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad is scheduled to take place on May 5.
