Gujarat Titans (GT) all-rounder Vijay Shankar was cleaned up by the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) pacer Dushmantha Chameera in the 4th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 between Hardik Pandya-led GT and KL Rahul-led LSG at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Monday, March 28.
Chasing the target, Gujarat Titans were off to an almost identical start as Lucknow Super Giants as they lost their opener, Shubman Gill, for a duck in the first over. Vijay Shankar was given an opportunity at No.3 and he was able to score only 4 runs off 6 balls before getting dismissed in the 3rd over.
Sri Lankan pacer Dushmantha Chameera delivered a terrific 145 kph toe-crushing yorker on the first ball of the 3rd over of the match. Shankar made a poor attempt to defend the deadly yorker from the pacer and couldn’t get his bat down in time, which led to the ball going past the bat and crashing onto the stumps.

Shami completed his 3-wicket haul by dismissing Manish Pandey in the 5th over.
However, Deepak Hooda played an amazing counterattack innings and completed his 50 runs off 36 balls, including 5 fours and 2 sixes. Deepak Hooda and Ayush Badoni had an amazing 87 runs partnership before leg-spinner Rashid Khan dismissed Hooda in the 16th over.
Young Ayush Badoni and Krunal Pandya played good knocks in the end and helped Lucknow Super Giants post 158 runs on the board.
