Young Indian cricketer Shubman Gill, who is part of Gujarat Titans (GT), grabbed an absolutely sensational catch to dismiss Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) batter Evin Lewis in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022.

The 4th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 is being played between two new teams – Hardik Pandya-led Gujarat Titans (GT) and KL Rahul-led Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) – at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Monday, March 28.

Meanwhile, express pacer Varun Aaron after getting smashed for a four in the 4th over bowled a bouncer on the fourth stump to explosive batter Evin Lewis.

LSG batter played a pull shot and the ball took the top edge of the bat and went over square leg. GT fielder Gill ran backwards from mid-wicket, kept his eyes on the ball and dived toward the rope to complete a stunning catch. Lewis’ innings ended for 10 runs off 9 balls.

Lucknow Super Giants Off To A Horrible Start vs Gujarat Titans

Earlier, Gujarat Titans (GT) won the toss and opted to field first. Hardik Pandya-led side had 4 overseas players in their playing XI, including the likes of Matthew Wade, David Miller, Rashid Khan and Lockie Ferguson. On the other hand, KL Rahul-led Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) had three overseas players in their playing XI including, Quinton de Kock(w), Evin Lewis and Dushmantha Chameera.

Lucknow Super Giants captain KL Rahul was off to the worst possible start in his debut game for LSG as he was dismissed by Gujarat Titans pacer Mohammed Shami in the first ball of the match itself.

This was KL Rahul’s second duck in IPL. Notably, his first duck came against Gujarat Lions in 2016. Soon Quinton de Kock, Evin Lewis and Manish Pandey got out after playing poor knocks and at the time of writing, Lucknow Super Giants are at 31/4.
