GT vs RCB: Watch - Anuj Rawat Takes Catches In Two Attempts To Dismiss Sai Sudharsan
Anuj Rawat took a catch in a couple of attempts to dismiss Sai Sudharsan in the 13th over of the game on the bowling of Wanindu Hasaranga to leave Gujarat Titans at 95-4 in their chase of 171 runs. Sudharsan scored 20 runs off 14 balls coming into bat at number 3. He had replaced Abhinav Manohar in the playing XI.
Anuj Rawat was not part of the playing XI for Royal Challengers Bangalore as he was left out from the side and Virat Kohli opened for the 2nd consecutive game in a row.
Rawat was keeping because Dinesh Karthik was feeling unwell after the first innings and RCB had requested GT to let Rawat keep wickets because they had no other keeper in their XI.
Gujarat Titans In A Spot Of Bother In Their Chase
GT has produced some magnificent chases this season as they have won games by scoring 12 off 2 balls against Punjab Kings and 9 off 2 balls against Sunrisers Hyderabad and they were looking well on track to chase down 171 against RCB but Hasaranga picked up two crucial wickets in the middle overs to bring RCB back into the game.
Sudharsan’s wicket came just at the right time for RCB as GT were going well. But unfortunately for Sai Sudharsan, he edged the ball which first hit Rawat’s hands and popped up in the air. Rawat was clever enough to spot the ball behind him and pluck the catch.
Earlier in the day RCB won the toss and chose to bat first. Virat Kohli scored his first fifty of the season. Rajat Patidar also scored a valuable 52 off 32 and helped RCB post 170 on the board.
The best bowler for GT on the day was Pradeep Sangwan who was making a comeback into the league after playing his last game for Mumbai Indians in the 2018 season.
