Gujarat Titans’ Rahul Tewatia (40*) and Rashid Khan(31*) held their nerve in the final over to win the match by 5 wickets. SRH pacer Umran Malik’s destructive spell (5 wickets for 25 runs) went in vain. Handy contributions from Abhishek Sharma (65 off 42), Aiden Markram (56 off 40), and late strikes from Shashank Singh (25 off 6) powered SunRisers Hyderabad to 195/6 after 20 overs.

Gujarat Titans (GT) climbed to the top of the points table in the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 with a victory in the last over against SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 5 wickets on Wednesday at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Wriddhiman Saha top-scored with 68 for Gujarat Titans.

Rajasthan Royals (RR) continued their winning run in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 with a victory against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 29 runs at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. Riyan Parag’s unbeaten 56*(31) and Kuldeep Sen’s splendid four-wicket haul led Rajasthan Royals to a 29-run victory as well as to the top of the table. In reply to RR’s 144/8, RCB could score only 115.

Gujarat Titans vs Royal Challengers Bangalore Match Preview, IPL 2022, Match 43, GT vs RCB

Gujarat Titans will play their 9th match whereas Royal Challengers Bangalore will play their 10th of the season. The IPL 2022 debutants Gujarat Titans have lost only 1 match out of 8 matches. The team is performing brilliantly under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya.

Royal Challengers Bangalore got a great start to their IPL 2022 campaign. But in the last two games, RCB’s batters have failed to perform as after being dismissed for only 68 runs against SunRisers Hyderabad, the team also failed to chase a target of 145 runs against Rajasthan Royals.

At present, Gujarat Titans are in the 1st position and Royal Challengers Bangalore are in the 5th position on the IPL 2022 points table. Royal Challengers Bangalore are fifth in the points table with five wins and four losses from nine league games.

Hardik Pandya is expected to be the main man for Gujarat Titans. The skipper has been leading from the front in IPL 2022 so far. He has accumulated 305 runs in 7 games at an average of 61. He has already 3 fifties beside his name. David Miller and Shubman Gill have also scored in excess of 200 runs.

In the bowling department, Mohammed Shami has already taken 13 scalps averaging less than 20. Lockie Ferguson, Rashid Khan, and Yash Dayal are also in fine form.

RCB skipper Faf du Plessis will have to lead from the front if RCB wants to make a comeback in the competition. The opening batter is currently the top run-scorer for his team with 278 runs from nine games at an average of 30.89.

For the first 8 matches, RCB saw the opening duo of Faf du Plessis and Anuj Rawat. While Faf du Plessis has played two stunning knocks to be their current leading run-scorer, Anuj Rawat hasn’t had a good outing in IPL 2022 so far. Anuj Rawat could only manage 129 runs from 8 innings at a poor average of 16 and a strike rate of 109. These aren’t the returns one expects from their front-line batter.

After their humiliating defeat against SRH, they can’t afford to take more risks. Given the situation RCB is in, they can think of playing an experienced Mahipal Lomror instead of Anuj Rawat. Primarily a middle-order batter, Mahipal Lomror has the attacking game to adapt as an opener. He had a decent outing for RR last year and can be a good value add for RCB.

Coming to the middle-order, RCB is currently seeing the worst patch of Virat Kohli. The leading run-scorer in IPL is currently in the worst form of his career having amassed just 128 runs from 9 innings at an average of 16 and a strike rate of 119.62. He now has two golden ducks in his last two games and is in desperate need of a confidence booster.
