After Mark Wood’s injury, former Indian batter Aakash Chopra thinks the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) should explore several Indian players. Despite suffering a serious elbow injury which will keep him away temporarily, the English bowler will not participate in the IPL 2022.
The 32-year-old speedster’s successor has yet to be named by the new team. At the two-day IPL 2022 big auction last month, Wood was bought for 7.5 crores. In the early overs, he was forced to share the new ball with Avesh Khan in a searching combination.
Even though the fact that the team’s substitute selection is short, the former player listed a few Indian prospects who could be selected. On his YouTube channel, Chopra stated:
“Kulwant Khejroliya, Dhawal Kulkarni, and Sandeep Warrier are among the Indian possibilities. After becoming unsold at the auctions, these players pitch themself as choices.” Chopra continued, ”
“Ishant Sharma is also a possibility. It’s getting a little thin at the moment.”
Ishant Sharma chose to go back to the domestic circuit for Delhi in the Ranji Trophy despite going unsold for his starting price of 1.5 crores at the auctions. His experienced bowler appears to be out of the equation with the national squad as well.
An issue early in the tournament is the lack of international players says, Aakash Chopra:
The absence of international players in the early stages of the season, according to Chopra, could hurt teams such as the Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants. Many foreign players will be on overseas assignment and therefore will be unavailable for the first leg, which begins on March 26. Chopra stated, ”
“Only three international players are available for the Delhi Capitals. The Lucknow Super Giants are dealing with the same issue. A few of their stars will be unavailable when the event begins.”
On March 28, Lucknow Super Giants will kick off their season against Gujarat Titans. For the first time in IPL history, both teams will be represented.
