Mumbai all-rounder Shivam Dube was a huge attraction on the second day of the Indian Premier League- IPL 2022 auction and was eventually picked up by the four-time defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK), where Dube will play under MS Dhoni.
When his name came up for bidding, it triggered a three-way war between the Chennai Super Kings, Punjab Kings, and the Lucknow Super Giants. Dube had put his name under the auction at a base price of INR 50 lakhs and having played for the Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals, not to forget a handful of matches for India as well in the white-ball cricket, franchises knew his worth.
While Lucknow tapped out at INR 2 crores, Punjab Kings were given a tough fight by CSK, who after a long tussle, successfully bought Shivam Dube for the IPL 2022 for a sum of INR 4 crores.

The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) shared a video in which Shivam Dube had a message for CSK fans in which he said: “Hello Chennai, Shivam Dube here. I am really excited to be part of this big franchise, and yes always a dream to play under Mahi bhai. Whistle Podu.”
