Indian all-rounder Krunal Pandya said that he is looking forward to his next opportunity in the Indian Premier League.

Krunal made his IPL debut for Mumbai Indians in 2016, he blazed 86 off 37 balls against Delhi Daredevils (now Capitals) in his first season.

Krunal played 84 IPL matches for Mumbai Indians in five seasons (2016-2021) before he was released by the franchise along with his brother. Mumbai Indians retained Rohit Sharma, Kieron Pollard, Jasprit Bumrah and Suryakumar Yadav ahead of IPL 2022 auction.

Wherever I go I will share my experience: Krunal Pandya

Krunal has registered himself for IPL 2022 auction with the base price of INR 2 crore and the Baroda player is ready for his new team.

Krunal said he would carry his experience to whichever team he goes on to play for and will shelve the responsibility on his shoulders.

“I am looking forward to it. It has been six IPL seasons with Mumbai Indians. I have been part of three IPL trophies. Definitely, wherever I go I will share my experience. I am someone who doesn’t back off from responsibility. I like pressure situations. When I practice, I don’t train for easy situations. I work hard for those tough battles, where I can win games for my team,” Krunal said on YouTube Channel ‘Backstage With Boria Majumdar’.

I have always got better every year: Krunal Pandya

Krunal has scored 1143 runs from 72 IPL innings at the strike rate of 138.55 and average of 22.41. He also has bagged 51 wickets with the ball for MI.

Krunal used to be a floater in the Mumbai Indians batting line-up as he used to switch between middle-order and lower middle-order. The all-rounder mentioned that he progressed in each year of his IPL stint with the five-time title holders.

“What I have felt is that I have always got better every year. Sometimes the numbers don’t justify what you have done or whether you are getting better or not. In a T20 format, every situation is different. How you have been used also matters a lot in a way,” Krunal said.

“The first four seasons that I played, my role was completely different, where I was batting higher in the order. Last two seasons, my role was way different in terms of a batter, where Pollard and Hardik were going upfront. I don’t focus on the result-oriented things. I focus on the process – whether I am getting better as a player and as a human being,” he added.

Krunal’s brother Hardik, who was also with Mumbai Indians for six seasons, has been named as the captain of the Ahmedabad franchise.
