Hooda was released by Punjab Kings ahead of IPL 2022 auction and the Rajasthan all-rounder saw some serious bidding next to his name.

Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals raised the curtain for Hooda up to 1.70 crore before Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings carried the race forward.

As the bidding moved to 3.40 crore, Mumbai Indians pulled themselves out of the contention but the Lucknow outfit threw its hat in the ring.

The Sanjiv Goenka owned franchise ensured they had Hooda in their squad as they completed his signing for INR 5.75 crores.
