The IPL 2022 season ended with Gujarat Titans winning their maiden IPL title in their first IPL season. They defeated Rajasthan Royals at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad to win the final. Hardik Pandya as Gujarat Titans skipper became the fourth Indian to win an IPL title. 

Injuries were a constant problem throughout the IPL for different players. Various Indian and overseas players were injured and ruled out of the tournament midway till the end of the tournament. A hamstring injury ruled out Ajinkya Rahane from KKR’s last couple of matches. He got injured when KKR took on SRH in the reverse fixture. The veteran Indian cricketer is under treatment and will miss the upcoming Test series against England as well.
