Sam Billings discussed what it’s like to represent the two-time IPL champions and how CSK and KKR are comparable in several aspects.
An England wicketkeeper-batsman was purchased for Rs 2 crore by the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the IPL 2022 mega auction, and he has already proven his worth this season by contributing significantly.
Billings had a quickfire stumping to send back the dangerous Dewald Brevis in the last game against the Mumbai Indians, and he also contributed with the bat with a 25-run effort.
Billings has scored 80 runs in four matches so far this season. In the season’s first match against CSK, Billings created a critical alliance that helped KKR beat the defending champions.
Billings, when questioned about his connection with head coach McCullum, said: “Without a doubt. That’s the good news, and we’ve gotten along swimmingly. McCullum instills confidence in his players. I believe it is critical for any coach to make players feel respected and to provide support so that they can play an attacking and upbeat brand of cricket.”
KKR I think has a lot of similarities with CSK: Sam Billings
Billings discussed what it’s like to represent the two-time IPL champions and how CSK and KKR are comparable in several aspects.
“Yeah, I think CSK has been tremendously successful with the three franchises I’ve represented in the IPL.” Winning the IPL and coming in second place. I had a great time for two years. “I believe KKR and CSK are very comparable in terms of organization and consistency on and off the field,” Sam Billings Added.
“It is, in my opinion, a major factor in the success of both franchises. Brendon McCullum’s (KKR head coach) new positivity is something I’ve loved working with so far, and it’s a different approach than most coaches, which is a great thing to see,” he remarked.
KKR has won three of their last four matches, putting them on top of the table with six points. On Sunday, Shreyas Iyer’s team will take on the Delhi Capitals.
