Delhi Capitals were forced to postpone their travel to Pune for their next game following a covid scare in their camp. The players have been asked to quarantine in their rooms and there will be door-to-door tests scheduled for today and tomorrow.

Delhi Capitals team physio Patrick Farhart has been isolated after testing positive previously. Now as per reports, another player has tested positive based on the Rapid Antigen Test and will further undergo the RT-PCR Test to confirm the result.

Delhi will be playing Punjab Kings in their next game in Pune on April 20. They are placed eighth on the points table at the moment after losing their previous match against RCB.

Delhi have now lost three of their first five games. Their next course of action following the Covid scare will be informed to them by the BCCI. This is the first covid scare amongst the players reported in IPL 2022.

The BCCI had previously decided to allow 50 per cent of the crowd capacity to enter the stadiums to watch the matches. To limit the threat of Covid, the BCCI also decided to stage the entire IPL 2022 within the state of Maharashtra. However, despite the best effort of the BCCI, the threat of Covid has finally hit IPL 2022.

So far 29 games have been played in IPL 2022. Gujarat Titans following their win over CSK on Sunday is topping the table with 10 points. LSG, RCB and SRH are level on 8 points. While RR, KKR and PBKS are level on six points each. DC are on four points, CSK two while Mumbai Indians are yet to get their first win of the season.

A total of 74 matches will be played across the four venues in Maharashtra. 20 matches each will be played at the Wankhede Stadium and the DY Patil Stadium while 15 games each will be played at the Brabourne Stadium and the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium. The final will be played on May 29 in Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium as per recent reports.
