The 15th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has not been a memorable one for the Chennai Super Kings. The four-time winners were unable to go past the league stage and qualify for playoff games just for the second time in their history, and this year they additionally went on to face defeat in 10 matches out of 14.
This was the first time throughout the history of IPL that CSK experienced these numerous defeats.

“I think what I have achieved in this IPL, I have never achieved before in my past career in the IPL. Mahi bhai gave me some words of wisdom and I didn’t realise a few things about myself until he brought it up.
He said, ‘You’re very talented’ and asked me to keep working hard and believe in myself,” he said in a short video clip of the interview that was shared by the franchise’s official Twitter handle.
Prior to showing up for the Chennai-based side in IPL 2022, Dube had addressed Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2019 and Rajasthan Royals in the next two seasons (2020-2021). In the 11 matches of IPL 2022, Dube scored 289 runs at an average of 28.90 and a strike rate of 156.21. He completed as the second-highest run-scorer for CSK this year.
