Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) wicket-keeper batter Dinesh Karthik opened up on the moments leading to the crucial wicket of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) captain, KL Rahul, during their game on Tuesday.

Rahul was set at the crease during LSG’s run chase of 182 but he was undone by Harshal Patel’s off-cutter. Rahul ended up nicking the ball but there were no appeals initially from RCB.

However, Virat Kohli, standing at point, came in claiming there could have been a noise that was caught on the Ultra Edge. The review turned out to be a masterstroke and RCB ended up winning the game eventually by 18 runs.

Actually I didn’t know anything to be honest. I thought he hit it. Virat came running but Virat comes running a lot so I always doubt that.”

I was waiting to see if anybody said anything and then because the umpire didn’t give it wide, I told Faf just go for it. It was a key wicket because KL Rahul was batting well today,” Karthik said on Star Sports after the conclusion of the game.

“We’re going in the right direction which is a good sign” – Dinesh Karthik

Karthik believes that the team has managed to come back from tough situations which is a testimonial to RCB’s good performance in the season so far.

It always feels when you win five. The important part is we’ve been coming back from tough situations. We’ve not been getting starts (as well as we would’ve liked to) but still finding ways to claw back in the game and then winning it convincingly, says a lot about our bowling attack. We’re very proud of our bowling. We’re going in the right direction which is a good sign,” Karthik further added.
