The SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) had a poor start to the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 season on Tuesday, losing by 61 runs to Rajasthan Royals. Krishnamachari Srikkanth, a former India captain, praised the Rajasthan Royals’ performance. On the other hand, he believes SRH has already established itself as a strong candidate for a bottom-two result.

“A fantastic performance by @rajasthanroyals!” Overall, excellent performance, and he appears to be a top-four contender! In a tweet, Srikkanth remarked, “Terrible for #SRH, team composition, depth in all departments is lacking, early symptoms of a last 2 contender for them #SRHvRR.”

Wasim Jaffer, a former India opener, couldn’t comprehend why SRH batted all-rounder Washington Sundar at No.8. Sundar Agarwal hit 40 runs in 14 balls.

RR batted first and scored 210/6, with skipper Sanju Samson getting a half-century. SRH was confined to 149/7 as a result of the performances of Jos Buttler, Devdutt Padikkal, and Shimron Hetmyer. Before Sundar’s onslaught, they were struggling at 37/5 in the 11th over and 78/6 in the 16th.

“Washington Sundar will almost certainly have to bat above the number eight spot. You’re not getting anything out of him by forcing him to bat there, in my opinion “On ESPNCricinfo, Jaffer stated.

“In the powerplay, he must bowl a couple of overs and bat at 6 or 7. You can also promote him to number 3 or 4 if necessary. That brief inning would have instilled a lot of confidence in him “he stated

The Rajasthan Royals started the season with a 61-run victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad. Rajasthan batted first, scoring 210/6 in 20 overs.
