IPL 2022: First Choice Seven Indian Players Of Delhi Capitals (DC) For The Tournament
Prithvi Shaw
Shaw was one of the four players retained by the franchise after a promising stint with the Delhi Capitals between 2018-2021. They decided to invest in the youngster for another spell. He will open the batting alongside David Warner after the franchise was not able to get Shikhar Dhawan back in the mega auction. He packs a punch with his backh=goor and cut shots and can be a nightmare for bowlers if he gets going. He and Ravid Warner make a formidable opening pair who can set the tone for their team.

Rishabh Pant
Pant should ideally bat at number three of four in the Delhi playing XI. He was elevated as a captain after Shreyas Iyer got injured and has done a fabulous job for his side. It will be interesting to see if he is able to keep his batting form going with the added pressure of captaincy and managing other players in the team.
Axar Patel
Delhi Capitals chose Axar Patel over the experienced Ravichandran Ashwin keeping the future in mind. They retained him for a hefty price of 9 crores. Currently, the all-rounder is out of the Indian team with a stress fracture. He played for India last in the Test series against New Zealand at home last year. With multiple all-rounders in the side, it will be interesting to see the role he plays this season for Delhi.
Shardul Thakur
Delhi Capitals bagged Shardul Thakur for 10.75 crores. He is making all the right noises in Indian cricket since his stint with CSK in the IPL. He is playing across formats for India and producing the goods with both bat and ball. He is often referred to as the man with the golden arm in Indian cricket as he makes things happen. With the bat, he has proved his potential time and again.
Kuldeep Yadav
Kuldeep has spent most of his time in the IPL in the last three years along the sidelines. He should be given a consistent run by Delhi capitals in the playing XI. He can fill up the absence of Ravichandran Ashwin to some extent. Along with Axar Patel, the two left-arm spinners can be wicket-taking options for Delhi. Kuldeep is currently with the Indian team for the Sri Lanka series.
Chetan Sakariya
Chetan Sakariya is a young and exciring prospect. He is a skilful bowler and has proved his potential in the IPL with Rajasthan Royals. He also made it to the Indian team courtesy of his performances in the IPL in 2021. Delhi has always backed young talent and needs to do the same with Sakariya.
Kamlesh Nagarkoti
Nagarkoti was another youngster who came up the ranks from U-19 cricket. He was roped in by KKR in IPL 2018 and nourished for four years. They failed to buy him back at the auction as Delhi showed more interest and finally had him in their ranks. The side is a little weak on its Indian bowling contingent. However, Sakariya and Nagarkoti can be their best bet along with the overseas professionals.
