Punjab Kings bought 23 players in the IPL 2022 mega auction. The franchise owners and the management have done a good job to identify players who can help them win their maiden IPL title. For PBKS, Liam Livingstone was the most expensive deal for Rs. 11.5 crores. Shikhar Dhawan (8.25 crores), Kagiso Rabada (9.25 crores), Jonny Bairstow (6.75 crores), and Shahrukh Khan (9 crores) were some of the other expensive players that Punjab Kings bought during the auction.

Punjab bagged Dhawan for 8.25 crores. In the last three seasons for Delhi Capitals, Dhawan has scored over 1200 IPL runs with two 600-plus seasons. There were also reports that the franchise arr looking to announce him as the skipper ahead of the new season, In Dhawanm the franchise has one of the most consistent run-getters in the IPL. Punjab Kings would ideally hope that the southpaw continues his rich vein of form.

Mayank Agarwal
Agarwal would ideally open with Dhawan. It will also help the franchise maintain the left-right batting combination. Agarwal would complement Dhawan who is more of an accumulator of runs. Agarwal and KL Rahul formed a terrific opening pair for Punjab Kings and the franchise would hope that with Dhawan he finds the same mojo. The right-hander is also tipped as a possible captaincy candidate for the franchise.
Shahrukh Khan

Shahrukh Khan is back with Punjab Kings after a good 201 season where he gave a glimpse of his talent. The franchise played 11 games for the franchise in 2021 scoring just 153 runs. However, the world got to show the mighty power he possesses. This year he will be tasked with the responsibility of finishing games for his side rather consistently. He will bat at number five of six depending on the match situation. The franchise bought him back for 9 crores.
Harpreet Brar

Another youngster from Punjab who proved his mettle at the IPL level. He bagged for 3.8 crores by Punjab Kings. He dismissed the likes of Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell and AB De Villiers in the last IPL season. He showed that he has a good head on his shoulders. He will be one of the led spinners for the franchise.
Sandeep Sharma

Sandeep Sharma is back for his second stint with the franchise. A good swing bowler with the ability to take wickets upfront Sharma can be a mighty good option with the ball. He can also bowl at any phase of the match be it at the start or at the death. To add to his bowling skills he is an acrobatic fielder with a good throwing arm.
Arshdeep Singh
Rahul Chahar

Rahul Chahar was released by Mumbai Indians ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction. That allowed Punjab Kings to attain his services for 5.25 crores. He has risen up the ranks playing two back to back seasons for Mumbai where he bowled well. This allowed him to make his white-ball debut for India. Chahar completes the list of seven players Punjab would prefer in their playing XI.
