IPL 2022: Graeme Swann Makes Bold Prediction For Tournament Final Ahead Of Qualifier 1 Between GT And RR

Former England spinner Graeme Swann has made a bold prediction for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 final ahead of Qualifier 1 of the cash-rich league.

The four teams that have made it to the playoffs of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 are Gujarat Titans, Rajasthan Royals, Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Qualifier 1 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 will witness the battle between Hardik Pandya-led Gujarat Titans (GT) and Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Tuesday, May 24.

Meanwhile, in the Eliminator of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 KL Rahul-led Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will lock horns with Faf du Plessis-led Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Wednesday, May 25 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Rajasthan Royals will win Qualifier 1 against Gujarat Titans – Graeme Swann

Former England spinner Graeme Swann, ahead of the Qualifier 1 between Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals, said that the Sanju Samson and Co. will emerge victorious in the match and become the first team to book a spot in the IPL 2022 final.

He added that the Gujarat Titans and the Rajasthan Royals are the two best teams in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League and they could face off each other in the final.

“Rajasthan Royals will win that first game (Qualifier 1) against Gujarat Titans. I honestly think first and second, i.e. Gujarat and Rajasthan are the two best sides in this season and they could end up facing each other in that final,” the ex-cricketer said on Star Sports show Cricket Live. 

Notably, table-toppers Gujarat Titans became the first team to officially qualify for the Indian Premier League 2022 playoffs and they won 10 games in the league stage.

Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals reached second place after the win over Chennai Super Kings in their last league stage game.

Notably, Lucknow Super Giants and Rajasthan Royals had an equal number of wins but RR made it to the Qualifier 1 due to their superior net run rate. Also, Royal Challengers Bangalore became the last team to enter the playoffs.
