IPL 2022: Gujarat Titans Unveil Logo In The Metaverse Ahead Of The Tournament

On Sunday, February 20, CVC Capital-owned Gujarat Titans unveiled their logo in the metaverse ahead of the marquee Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, which is expected to commence in the last week of March.

The 2022 edition of the IPL will be a 10-team tournament as two new teams – Gujarat Titans owned by CVC Capital and Lucknow Super Giants owned by Sanjiv Goenka-owned RPSG Group – have joined the cash-rich league.

Notably, CVC Capital Partners successfully bid with Rs 5,625 crores for Ahmedabad. RPSG Group picked Lucknow as their home base with a winning bid of Rs 7090 crores.

Meanwhile, Gujarat Titans picked Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya for INR 15 crore ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega auction and he has been appointed as the captain of the team, this will be the first time the Baroda all-rounder will be leading a team in the marquee T20 league.

Also, Gujarat added Afghanistan leg-spinner, Rashid Khan, for INR 15 crore and Indian opener Shubman Gill for INR 8 crore to the squad ahead of the mega auction.

Meanwhile, former Indian left-arm pace bowler Ashish Nehra will be the head coach of the Gujarat Titans and 2011 World Cup-winning coach Gary Kirsten will be serving dual roles of mentor and batting coach. Former England cricketer Vikram Solanki has been appointed as the Ahmedabad team’s Director of Cricket.

Also, the Gujarat Titans bought some big players like Jason Roy, Lockie Ferguson, David Miller, Wriddhiman Saha and Matthew Wade at the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega auction in Bengaluru.
